The Unnecessary Focus On Cybersex

Is cybersex being given too much sensationalism? It cannot be denied that cybersex has been a very common term since web 1.0. It is after all a way of sexual release that can still pass as adequate enough to get people off and at the same time keeps the participants safe from any form of disease or other forms of harm from random cybersex partners, both of which are more commonly experienced by those who participate in actual sexual prostitution or random one night stands.
It could be argued that people actually see cybersex as a much safer alternative so much so that people who are working in the line of prostitution capitalize on it. It has been quite long since these types of businesses have penetrated this market so much so that some countries and organizations have started to notice their existence and examine how much they affect the society.

How much does cybersex really affect the society?

Cybersex due to the popularity of the internet can be argued to be easier to be done than actual sex. One does not need to leave the comfort of one’s own room, he or she would not even need to prepare hygienically for the obvious reasons that it won’t matter at all, the fear of diseases and unwanted pregnancy are both not feared and once can just poses to be anyone… age, marital and social status can be changed, in fact, you can even not show your face and it is totally okay.

If one would actually try to think about it, it does not seem so bad at all. Only those who lean onto a specific kind of morality would dare knock it so much. Even for actual sex in itself, if both are of legal age and willing, there really isn’t much to be said, they are after all, the master of their own bodies and technically, they have their own right to whatever they want with them. If we follow such thought, how can cybersex be in any way near as complicated when the participants of it do not touch the other’s body at all?
It cannot be denied that each individual has a tinge of sexuality about them. It would just be plain hypocrisy if one should say that one cannot understand it one way or another. People who engage in cybersex should not be judged condescendingly especially at such a time wherein everything is being found in the internet. It should neither be knocked nor be given too much sensationalism. Let us be more concerned about those that could pose physical harm such as diseases or sexual assaults. Some may argue that intangible things such as cybersex can indirectly affect the real world, but for now, let us focus into the things that are really making changes in the real world rather than give the time of day knocking what is remaining shut from it. There’s more to life than knocking cybersex and we all should know that.
